I saw this quote the other day by Douglas Adams: “I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.”
Those words hit me hard.
If someone would have told me just a couple of years ago that this is where I’d be now, I never would have believe them.
Life has taken me on a million different twists and turns that seemed completely outside of the realm of possibility before they actually happened. But you know what? I truly believe that where I am today is exactly where I’m supposed to be, and I wouldn’t have ended up here without all of the little in-between moments.
I wouldn’t be here now without the sadness, the pain, the heartbreak. I wouldn’t be here without the smiles and the belly laughs. Everything I’ve done and everything I’ve endured has led me here.
I’m not a particularly religious or spiritual person, but I do believe the universe has a way of balancing itself out. And I do believe that we end up where we’re supposed to be, even if the road to get there is a bit bumpy.
Trust the process. The tears will be worth it one day soon. Just keep moving.
